Little Black Dress Initiative

Monday, March 6, 2017

During the week of March 6-10, The Junior League of Gainesville- Hall Co, Inc. is launching The Little Black Dress Initiative; an awareness campaign, which will seek to increase knowledge around the limits poverty can play on choices of expression and opportunities, by asking our members to wear one black outfit for a week.

Poverty limits your resources, your options for housing and employment, and even the ways you can express yourself – making it harder for you to better your life chances. Wearing one single outfit for an entire week will highlight the effects that limited resources can play on your quality of life.

Please consider making a donation to this meaningful cause; all funds raised from the LBDI will be donated to one of our community partners, Habitat for Humanity of Hall County.

The campaign week will wrap-up with League members participating in a Habitat build on March 11th.

How can I be involved in the Little Black Dress Initiative?
